Ramallah [Palestine], March 31: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has criticised the US after reports that it agreed to send another $2.5bn in weapons to Israel despite growing concern that Israeli forces will expand their military operations to Rafah, where displaced people have been sheltering.
"Demanding Netanyahu to stop killing civilians and supplying him with weapons is an unprecedented principled and moral contradiction," the ministry said in a statement on X.
US President Joe Biden has repeatedly told Israel that it should be "more careful" in order to protect civilians in Gaza.
The ministry expressed regret at the "ongoing failure" on the part of the UN Security Council (UNSC) and of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to bring Israel to respect their decisions.
The death toll from Israel's war on Gaza has risen to 32,705, the Health Ministry said in a statement, adding that 75,190 people have been injured since October 7.
The toll includes 82 people killed and 98 wounded in the past 24 hours.
