Hanoi [Vietnam], August 9: According to the organizers, more than 30 international contestants arrived at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) on August 8th, ready for the first leg of the 73rd Miss World pageant in Quang Ninh. The newly arrived beauties include representatives from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, England, France, Finland, Ghana, Indonesia, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mauritius, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Scotland, Slovenia, Somalia, the United States, and Zambia.
Due to geographical distance, some contestants from the Americas and Europe departed early. Many contestants endured journeys lasting dozens of hours, transiting through multiple airports before finally arriving in Vietnam.
Guatemalan beauty Andrea Ortiz and Moroccan contestant Chirihan Chergui were among the first contestants to arrive. Andrea Ortiz spent time exploring Ho Chi Minh City with her mother before heading to Quang Ninh, while Chirihan Chergui visited the Moroccan Embassy in Vietnam. The beauty queen shared that she noticed many similarities between the two countries, from their heritage and hospitality to the traditions that shape their national identities. Meanwhile, Danish beauty queen Josephine Bottger expressed her pride in representing her country at this year's Miss World competition, which marks the 75th anniversary of the pageant.
