Berlin [Germany], February 18: Noa Long scored his first Galatasaray goals as they crushed 10-man Juventus 5-2 in a thrilling first leg of their Champions League knock-out round play-off on Tuesday.
The hosts took the lead in Istanbul when Brazilian Gabriel Sara calmly struck home on 15 minutes after a defensive mistake by Juve.
The Italians, playing Weston McKennie as a false nine due to absences up front, hit back immediately through Teun Koopmeiners when he tapped in after Pierre Kalulu's header was saved.
The Netherlands midfielder then slammed home his second on 32 after a neat one-two with McKennie.
Fellow Dutchman Lang levelled early in the second half after injury-plagued Juve had been forced to substitute defenders Bremer and Andrea Cambiaso.
Colombia defender Davinson Sanchez then glanced in his first ever Champions League goal on the hour and Juve's hopes of a comeback ended when substitute Juan Cabal received a second booking.
Long, a January loan signing from Napoli, took advantage of more woeful Juve defending in the box on 75 and Sacha Boey, back on loan from Bayern Munich, blasted in the fifth.
The teams meet again in Turin next Wednesday knowing the winners will face Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur in the last 16. A draw takes place on February 27 to confirm the pairings.
Three other first legs take place later on Tuesday including holders Paris Saint-Germain at fellow Ligue 1 side Monaco, record winners Real Madrid visiting Benfica just weeks after losing in Lisbon and Borussia Dortmund hosting Atalanta.
The Dortmund game was delayed by 15 minutes due to the late arrival of the home team bus.
Four further first legs are scheduled for Wednesday.
