Paris [France], January 17: In his New Year's message on January 15, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Paris is providing approximately two-thirds of the intelligence to Ukraine, thereby replacing much of the role previously played by the United States.
Macron emphasized that over the past two years, Europe has gradually taken on key pillars of support for Ukraine, from arms and financial aid to intelligence sharing . According to the French leader, there is currently a coalition of approximately 35 countries maintaining the entire flow of support to Ukraine amidst the US shrinking its direct role in Kyiv.
This move comes after the US suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine in March 2025, as part of an effort to increase pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to cooperate with US President Donald Trump 's initiative to advance peace talks with Russia.
