Tehran [Iran], July 19: At least 50 people have been killed and more than 500 injured in Iran in the latest US strikes since the new escalation in the Gulf, the Iranian government said on Saturday.
Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpur wrote on X that 460 people had been discharged from hospital, while 37 remained.
The government typically reports only civilian casualties. There are no official figures on military losses.
The US military has primarily targeted Iran's southern coastal provinces. In the south-western, oil-rich industrial province of Khuzestan, authorities recorded strikes on 95 locations over the past 10 days, the Tasnim news agency reported.
Meanwhile, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has released a written statement saying the US's repeated breaches of agreements with Iran show that the US president's signature is "worthless and invalid".
The statement was released by Iran's IRIB broadcaster.
